Western Interpreting Network Sponsors Three KODA Campers

TEMECULA, CA -- June 29, 2009 -- Western Interpreting Network (WIN) was proud to sponsor three children attending KODAWest's annual Summer camp this year. "KODA" children are "Kids of Deaf Adults" and make up a unique sub-set of the deaf community. The camp is organized by KODAWest, a Southern California organization aimed at fostering unity, positive self-identity, and cultural affliation among hearing children of deaf parents. The camp is held in the Summer high in the mountains of San Bernardino County.

"We had originally intended to sponsor one child," said Moon Feris, Vice President of WIN. "When we learned there were three children in need of sponsorships, we realized they would all benefit from attending KODA camp, so we decided to sposor all three. KODA children are very special and their needs are generally unrecognized by mainstream society. KODA camp gives them an opportunity to be around others who are like them."

Below are photos of our happy campers alongside Moon.
